To efficiently
manufacture hydraulic cylinder assemblies, our customer wanted
to interface a rotating fixture with a weld robot. The fixture
shown was designed by our staff to adjust to the wide range of
part sizes required. The individual parts are clamped and a
signal is sent to the robot control. The assembly is first tack
welded at key locations and then the final welding is completed
in one clamping. This design has made it possible for the
customer to hold closer tolerances and avoid the machining
processes that were previously needed. |
