A large amount of
manual labor was required to attach an aluminum molding strip to
the bottom of a panel. To automate this process required the
interfacing of our PLC control, an Anilam CNC 2 axis control,
and a screw feeding and driving system. The goal was to minimize
handling yet accommodate the wide variety of panel sizes. The
machine receives the panel from a conveyor onto the ball feed
table. After loading a molding strip under the clamps, the panel
is slid to the preset stops. The proper program is selected and
the process is started. The drills are a special configuration
to drill the plastic for the screw threads and counter-drill the
aluminum. The table travels to the programmed positions and the
heads cycle as called for. The customer was able to streamline
his process and process his parts to order. |
